Geng Xue was born in 1983 and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a Bachelor's degree in sculpture in 2007. In 2014, she completed her Master's degree in printmaking from the same institution, under the guidance of Professor Xu Bing. During her five-year undergraduate studies, Geng Xue won numerous awards at the Central Academy of Fine Arts' annual exhibition. After graduating, she continued to explore sculptural language and ceramic materials, combining painting and image-making techniques to expand her creative practice. Her graduation work, 'The Sea Prince', was awarded and collected by the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum. Geng Xue's works have been exhibited in public institutions such as museums and galleries in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the UK, US, Spain, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Japan, and South Korea. Her work is also collected by institutions such as the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum, the National Museum of Wales, the Chazen Museum of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Gwangju Museum of Art in South Korea, and the Seta Museum in Japan.
